New developments in electronic publishing have created more opportunities, and good reasons, to write an e-book. An e-book can be a short guide or a complete manual. It can be a collection of articles, short stories or a poetry collection. Increasingly it can be a full-length novel published in a format that is designed to be read on a handheld device. An e-book can be any type of instant download, available to purchase online or used as a free marketing tool, available on request.
~ Write a full-length e-book to sell online.
Write an e-book that can be easily marketed online, whether it is for sale in the Amazon Kindle Store, or available as a download on payment on your own sales page. There are also some good self-publishing sites and e-book directories you can use to sell your e-books.
There is always a demand for knowledge on the Internet. Many people want inside information, or instruction on how to do things more effectively. You should write an ebook if you have personal experience or expertise in a specialist field. If you are a professional writer you can research and develop your new knowledge into a helpful guide.
~ Write a short e-book for marketing online.
A short e-book can be offered as a free gift and used to market products or sell services online. Your e-book should contain a strong message that readers are free to give away your e-book, by featuring it on their own website or blog as a free download, or by offering it as a free bonus product. In that way you create viral marketing for your own products or services, because the links in that e-book will always lead back to your sales pages.
When you write an e-book which shows how much a particular product or service will benefit the purchaser, you get more visitors to web pages where those products can be purchased, or a subscription can be set up, using a secure payment system.
There is a difference between how you would write a short marketing e-book and the way you would write a full-length book. Write a marketing e-book to encourages readers to visit links to your sales pages. Make the content compelling, write it with obvious enthusiasm for the subject and focus on the positive aspects.
~ Promote your e-book online.
E-books are really easy to recommend in forums, on message boards, and at social sites where you can share links. You can also use opt-in emails, newsletters, marketing articles, blogs, and also in viral ads, on free adboards and free link sites.
The benefits of writing an e-book are far greater than anything you could achieve in a printed publication, which will only reach a few hundred or a few thousand readers. With an e-book you have the potential to share your knowledge or your creative writing will many more people worldwide.
