Need help making a budget? Let me see your bills. The first step to making a budget is to gather up all your bills and create a spread sheet or use pen and paper and list all the creditors you owe. List everything from cable bills that never got paid to recurring debt such as rent and utilities. Now write how much you pay each bill each pay check.
Total up all your payments you should make per pay check and deduct that from the actual amount of money you get paid. If you have money left over that is wonderful and you can put that money in savings and start to look at ways to cut some of your expenses to save more. If you have a negative balance and your pay check does not cover your bills then you will need to take a more aggressive route.
There are numerous programs that can help you make a budget. Bankrate.com is an excellent free website that gives consumers information on budgeting along with financial calculators to determine just how bad you debt situation is. You will find information on how to buy an affordable car, home, college education, credit, investments etc. It's free information from some of the country's leading experts.
www.daveramsey.com is an excellent website to visit for financial information. He is well known for his financial peace university which teaches individuals the tools they need to become financially free. Dave also host his own syndicated radio talk show offering free financial advice.
www.suzeorman.com is a place to start if you are looking to find financial information. Suze Orman has a show on CNBC giving financial advice. She has written several books on financial planning and her motto is "People first, then things, then money."
The MSN money central site is my favorite financial planning site. There are many experienced financial experts offering free advice. You can also join in on one of the community discussion boards and get advice from real people who have been in your situation. Liz Pulliam Weston is a smart financial planner that writes articles for MSN about family and money. Donna Freedman writes a blog called Smartspending for MSN on their money central site and she gives great advice on how to budget and save. There are certified financial counselors available free also. This site is the most informative money site on the web today.
There is plenty of budgeting advice on the internet today. Just check out any or all of the sites I have mentioned and you will get the help you need to start a financial budget plan.
