look at them.
they're all three standing
in a little circle
whispering
one with her hands
around her boyfriend's waist
he looks lustily at her
making his little jokes
and smiling craftily
she plays with his hand
and doesn't remember
what happened last year.
-
look at the other.
always staring at everything
in technicolour retrospect
smearing on globs of make-up
in hopes
that someone will notice her
a little more
she does her little pirouettes
and shouts her thoughts
more than she should
modesty has become
something of the past
and shame has disappeared.
-
the third puts her nose in the air.
"I am glorious," she thinks
"I am the prettiest
and the nicest
and the smartest
I am the best."
what she really is
is like a crab
feeling that without
a shell
the soft inside
will wither away
-
vain.
immodest.
insecure.

She molds her anger into something new
She has a different point of view
Passion eats away the rage

Social network junkie,
prevailing upon her “friends,”
to bear witness to her life,
the one she just pretends.

Faking It
Fake diamonds, pearls of paste
her eyes are not blue,
don't be fooled.
They are instead
a lovely shade of brown
as are
TRUE COLORS
Fake friends, fake smiles always coming to your side
To find out what your weakness are
Exploiting and benefitting

Fake smiles fill my head.
Fake thoughts through and through.
I question who I am.
Is it really you?
Am I really me?
