Teen girls have it more difficult than ever. Young girls worshipping reality TV stars, and stars like Lindsay Lohan that are off the rails. This year, I'm challenging all teen girls to make New Year resolutions to become better people. You are what matters, girls! What doesn't matter is the immature, partying, all out insanity that celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan is displaying.
Teen girls need to take back their self-esteem, their rights as human beings. This is the year to do it. Why not model yourself after a young star that is a multi-millionaire that a huge future ahead of herself-Taylor Swift. Taylor was writing songs in her early teens. She started singing and decided early on that she wanted to sing for a living. She begged her parents to move to Nashville, from their home in Pennsylvania. After going to several record companies, one told her that they would take her under their wing. She would get a contract, that would essentially give her no freedom, she would have to do what they said, not what she wanted to do.
What I am telling teen girls is, let this be your year. Don't follow the crowd. Do what you want, and do it in a stylish, more mature manner. Be a leader! If you want to join a club at school, then do it.Make your New Year's resolutions really stand out this year. Make them goal oriented towards what you want to do with your life. Examples of your New Year resolutions could be:
I will start a club that is career oriented. You could start an artistic club for after school, where other teens will paint, and make creative items. I will not smoke, or I will stop, because smoking is not cool, and it causes an entire host of diseases. I will not post half naked or naked pictures of myself on the Internet. My boyfriend, or his friend will show them to everyone he knows. Some creepy old guy can look at them. These pictures can also ruin your chances of getting into a good college, and for getting a great job later on. I resolve this year to stand up for myself, and not shrink into a wall. This year, I will believe in myself. I will take lessons on how to become more confident, such as posture lessons, modeling, or dancing. Why not it worked for supermodel, millionaire, Gisele Bundchen.
There you have it girls, New Year resolutions to help create the new teen you for this year. Remember to stand up straight, and stop following the crowd.
