When you go camping you generally go to experience the great outdoors. Yes, this is true, but nothing beats the whole experience of gathering wood and starting a campfire so you can cook your meals. A lot of special times are spent by a campfire enjoying great food. There are many quick and easy meals you can prepare at a camping trip. Remember when you go camping you should always bring a pot, a ice cooler to keep food in,condiments, and other utensils to aid in cooking your meals. Here is a list of quick and easy meals you can prepare on the camp fire. Always remember to clean up after cooking and store food in sealed containers. You don't want to wake up to bear having a midnight snack right outside your tent.
1. Hot Dogs or sausages! This camping favorite is a must. You can even cook them on a stick. Don't go camping without your dogs!
2. Chili or soups. Bring a pot and boil some soup or heat up some chili to put on your dogs! Soup is great for those chilly nights.
3. Hamburgers or Steaks. Just bring a pan and throw some meat on the fire. Another camping must!
4. Marshmallows. Of course! Try making smores! Bring graham crackers and Hershey bars for this fun food.
5 Eggs, hard boil some eggs in the morning for a great breakfast option.
6 Coffee. Nothing beats a freshly brewed pot of hot coffee.
7. Bacon. Cook it up!
8. Chicken, add your favorite BBQ sauce .
9. Corn, Boil some corn on the cob!
These are some quick and easy meals you can enjoy when you are camping. Bring some side dishes like macaroni and pasta salad to compliment your meals. You can even get creative, use your condiments to make a salad with the lettuce, onions. tomatoes, pickles, and cheese. You can even mix some of these items with eggs and make an omelet. So next time you go camping, take a little time to plan your meals. Gather all necessary ingredients and pack them accordingly. Always bring food that will stay fresh for the amount of time you will be camping. Canned soups and chili will say longer than chicken or other meats that needs to be on ice. Being prepared will make your experience much more enjoyable. Having your meals planned will take out any uncertainty on your meals and give you something to look forward to do during your camping trip. Cooking during camping is all part of an experience guaranteed to give you life long memories.
