What matters most in life

Out of everything that exists in the galaxy, the rarest and most beautiful is life. The fact that we exist here today as living thinking beings is the greatest miracle ever performed. And with that beautiful gift some of us are unsure what it is we are really supposed to be seeking. From a very early age we are raised to do well in school and get a job, all the while getting married and starting a family. The only problem with this formula is that we are all different. Every person has their own life experiences, culture, and desire of their own. So it seems that maybe this one size fits all formula is a little too specific for some to really get the most out of life.

The simple truth to what matters most in life is extremely easy to hear, but not so easy to really understand. Happiness is the answer, true happiness. But its not so much about the happiness that makes this the answer, or what makes it so difficult for that matter. It is finding out truly what we want as an individual that makes this difficult. Of course everyone wants to be happy, but some of us are a little out of tune with our hearts that the answer to the problem is not so easily discovered. Combine this with the fact that it usually is risky to go after what the heart says, but the only true way to happiness is doing just that. It's to say to the world that maybe it is not all about logic, or the safe job. It is looking deep within ones self and doing what we truly want and feel is right. Now this could be different for anyone, for example a devoted parent may truly want in their heart to give their child a good start. To work whatever hours they can get to see that child succeed. The beautiful thing about life is all the possibilities we have, and some will be afraid to take chances because maybe to others it sounds like a bad idea. But if the heart says to quit a job and move to New York, if this is truly what the heart wants then there is no question. We do not give credit to the heart enough. The brain worries about money, finding a place or friends. Which yes these are reasonable concerns, but the heart has a driving force that is not matched by anything else. And when someone finally does listen to their heart, it is like a door opens. Happiness races in, regardless of the outcome. No one regrets listening to their heart no matter how difficult things become. But people do regret not listening to their heart, the biggest forms of regret are the ones full of inaction.

So no matter how cliche it is to say listen to your heart, it could not be any more correct. For it is the heart that has the key to true happiness. With happiness everything in the world is brighter, people are more friendly. Life is the absolute best thing, and with that hopefully more passions are followed, more loves are found, and people really start to live.
