There is nothing funny about wickedness. Nothing delightful about fear. No fun in duplicating darkness. As you can tell, I'm not an English speaking silent bullies, but, after reading this, some will say, a bully, maybe, but quiet, no. Now 'bout the hazards of this dark-tacular event.
Evil is always in a costume. That could be the mind, the eyes perhaps, even the mouth, the ears too. All are used as evil's covering, allowing it to fool us, thus, promoting the devil's program. Evil is the crowd's choice, sometimes it's even the good guys choice. Either way, you can't play in Satan's house without cost, for nobody plays with the devil's toys for free.
Fraternizing with the dark side is a trick and a treat. Now the treat is debatable, being dependant upon where your head is. For many, this fall classic is both, and many are happily participating. From a spiritual perspective, I must ask, is this kind of fun devil worship? How 'bout pitch black with a shine? My bad, they're the same thing. To simplify things a bit, is it just plain sin? To get simpler, what would God say about His children's participation in a walk on the dark side?
As I looked at the halloween decorations or should I say declaration, couldn't help but think, how did we become entangled in this mess? Is this really all about fun? How come this stuff means so much to so many Christians? Then I asked myself, am I overreacting?
What is a jack-o'-lantern and what does it represent? Me, I don't know. And I'm not really interested in a time consuming research. But I bet it has nothin' to do with God. I doubt it has anything to do with good. It's very appearance depicts something scary, a kind of unnecessary and no need to explain horror.
Until recently, a witch was evil or what has been express as such all of our lives...right? Guess time has changed. Which indicates, there shouldn't be such a display of this image in the Christian home or otherwise. Meaning, our children shouldn't be emulating one, even for one meaningless night.
There are some other shady characters our kids like to pretend they are. We were taught that ghost are evil, all that is except the Holy Ghost. Now a ghoulie or goblin, don't have a clue what they are even supposed to be, but their names says enough they should scare you, but nothing scares our kids.
It's not just the children, momma and daddy play this game too. See, this thing is a national subscribed fest. What do I mean? Some of them dress up! How could they? Parental make-over
