Humor: Helium.com

Created on: November 23, 2009

Finding something humorous to write about Helium web site is like trying to pull your own teeth. I often fall into the void of self inflicting words to text, only to have them come back and haunt me at times. I am guilty of the misplaced interpretation when describing things I think are interesting. Having a global audience to critic my work has also become a some what lofty idea when I write. I often wonder how they will read my writing if I write in southern dialect. The things make me paranoid and self conscious when writing.

I have found myself on occasion to be quite the intellect on making notable facts sound like science fiction. I have written things that have left me in awe of my way of thinking at times. Titles like "Are aliens real," to "How to be a good father," have left me on the trail to nowhere in a lot of Helium titles that have since been forgotten by Helium. I wish sometimes I could hit the delete button on my own computer to rid myself of non- productive articles that have been cast into the abyss of article submissions. I grow weary of leap frogging. I did not like this exercise even when I did it during football practice, and I still do not care for it in my writing.

While most on Helium seem to ease right through the system in their writing. I seem to struggle more and more to keep one writing star. I have lost the little blue bastard five times and worked feverishly to get it back so I would not be dropped off the glamorous Market Place eligibility list of approved writers. The little blue star has become an obsession of mine and even though I write at this very minute with my star gone, I still have high hopes of it gophering back up into visibility soon. The missing blue star represents a lot of hard work for me. Some of which I am very proud to have done, but have grown weary of keeping the fires stoked on my little planet.

I compare the little blue star to the death star in "Star Wars Trilogy." Helium is the death star floating around the Helium galaxy finding the rebellious single writing star and shooting it's death ray. Thus deleting the creative souls of many that are trying to survive the competition of other competing little blue stars that are trying to survive. Though this may sound like a rant to everyone, the humor I get from waking up in the morning to find the little blue bastard gone once again, makes me appreciate this onslaught to protect and better myself. So what if I choke on my coffee three to four times a day because of the complex I have with this twinkling star. People will remember my work and laugh often, and I will laugh with them, because I know where I come from when I write. The planet Krypton! Even Superman had to leave his flickering star to travel through the universe of knowledge to become the hero of his new home. If Superman can take this kind of chance, I sure can.
