Poetry: A kiss

by Richard Ellis

Created on: November 23, 2009

A kiss, the kiss, the true lovers' seal,
The token of passion requited,
Given and received with equal zeal-
By the pressing of lips, two are united.

A kiss that is given and received,
And given and received in return,
Affirms the love before perceived,
And kindles an affectionate burn.

This kiss is no mere peck on the lips,
But, a true love declaration,
From which affection fairly drips,
Confirming mutual admiration.

It is much the same the world around,
The expression of love is in the bliss,
Of the feelings that are finally unbound,
By the love expressed only in a kiss.
