A new year, and a new you. When 2010 finally comes around, it is a good idea to make a resolution. A resolution is like a promise to yourself that you are going to carry out for usually a month or so but they can most certainly last for longer. A good example of a resolution would be a diet. Most people in the new year are looking to quit eating junk food, or exercise on a regular basis, which is wonderful. A word of advice that I have would be to always make realistic goals for yourself. Try and do something that you know you could do. For example, do not have a resolution to never eat candy again because this is highly unlikely to ever happen. Instead of something drastic, make a resolution that is actually possible like to exerscise every day for maybe twenty or thirty minutes.
Another word of advice to you would be to actually strive for your goal. Say you want to lose twenty pounds in a month. A good idea to help you achieve this goal would be to make a schedule or planner for yourself to carry out each day. Try replacing your mid day snack with a healthy fruit or vegetable. Try to go for a bike ride or run in the afternoon to get your heart pumping. Remember that any exercise is better than no exercise at all!
Remember to stick to your plan and always keep at it. Another good tip for keeping to your resolution would be to talk about it with your friends and family. This is a good idea so that you could have a support system to help you get to your desired end product. A second idea could be to track your progress. See how you are doing each day, and try to top what you did the day before. Don't beat yourself up over an occassional slip up. Obsessing over a mistake will not help you to achieve your goal! Always keep trying. If your resolution has lost steam, don't fret! You could start over, resolutions do not always have to be made at New Years. Over 63% of people say that they are keeping to their resolutions after two months! Also, over 67% of people make three or more resolutions. It might help to make a bunch of little resolutions that are easy to do, rather than make one big one. With time and pressure, you can achieve anything!
