Are Homosexual Acts Natural or sinful?

The concept "natural" as it relates to homosexual acts will be discussed in the context of reproduction, which is a life process. Reproduction is the natural method for the survival and propagation of the species. Sexual reproduction begins with the fertilization of a female gamete (sex cell) by a male gamete. This can be accomplished naturally or artificially as has been practiced in recent times through the production of embryos in test tubes. Based on the meaning of the term sexual reproduction, it can be concluded that the word sex implies the involvement of male and female.

Reproduction can also be asexual, which does not involve male and female. This type of reproduction occurs in some plants which may be circumposed, cut and planted thus creating a new plant from the parent stock. Some animals can be reproduced asexually by dissecting them and each part becomes a whole organism. This also takes place in micro organisms such as amoeba, which reproduce through mitosis. Viruses also reproduce asexually by replication of the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) it contains.

Angiosperms (flowering plants) reproduce sexually when the pollen grains which contain the male sex cells fall into the ovule which contains the female sex cells of the plant. When this occurs, new seeds are produced enclosed in edible plant products like the pulp of fruits such as melons and that of vegetables such as tomatoes. In the process of reproduction food is produced for consumption by other organisms thus promoting their survival and good health. What are the products of homosexual acts?

Animals of the vertebrate phylum reproduce through sexual means; some offspring develop in the uterus like the mammals while others develop outside the uterus, and are developed inside eggs and are later hatched. There are some animals such as annelids which are hermaphrodites, that is, they have both male and female sex cells and can carry out self fertilization. There are no species in nature which reproduce homosexually .There is no known incident involving the fertilization of one male sex cell by another male sex cell resulting in the production of an offspring.

Homosexual acts do not conform to those naturally occurring for the propagation of the species. The word natural is defined as: of or produced by nature; not man made... (Hawker, 2003).Homosexuality is not of or produced by nature, it is man made. It is also sinful. Sin as defined by Hawker 2003 is:
