Runescape is a massive online adventure game by Jagex Ltd. I will prove the reasons why children should be allowed to play Runescape because of the population of players on this game already, the security of this game and the learning side of the game.

Runescape is a massive game, with over 130 million accounts created, which is over five times bigger than the population of Australia. This game is clearly extremely popular, and it that a high percentage of kids have played Runescape. Runescape is the biggest online game in the world, one of the reasons because of its security! Runescape was also awarded the Golden Joystick award in 2009. The game is made up of kids, and almost everyone in primary schools have played Runescape in some point in their life. This proves that this game is clearly loved by many, and there has not even been one known case where a child has been abducted, which shows how secure Runescape is.

My second reason I believe Runescape is safe for kids is the security of the game. Runescape has many features keeping it safe, such as an ingame report button, which can be pressed with one click, before deciding what rule the user broke. There are also other features, like an option which allows you to chat to your friends without anyone else seeing, and ignoring a mean user. These features help prove how secure Runescape is, and shows why children should be allowed to play. Runescape also has many moderators ingame who focus on keeping the game safe, and also ten staff members, who focus on reading the reports users sent them about inappropriate users. These staff members spend their whole life banning inappropriate users, and work over eight hours a day. Runescape was voted the safest online game, so if you think Club Penguin would be a safer alternative, think again!

My final reason why you should allow yor children to play Runescape is the educational side of this game. If you are afraid your child is focusing too long on Runescape, remember these educational benefits. One of the benefits is social interaction. "The geek, the poor kid and the shy kid for example all have a chance to really show off to people who they really are. Being behind a computer screen gives them the confidence to form friendships that they other wise would be to scared to form. So with this the outside appearance has no factor in building friendships. It truly is all about what is on the inside." Antoinette McGowan. Another benefit is learning to type. A survery showed
