How to do an image search on Bing

Using the internet to find specific types of images that we need is one of the greatest things about it. With just a click and a few keystrokes, we are able to browse a huge library of images from every possible subject. Image Searching is most widely done on the popular search engine Google, but recently, Microsoft has rolled out a new major search engine called "Bing", which promised to revolutionize the way that we scour the internet. It's not my call to judge whether it has done this, but it certainly has made searching for images more comprehensive, user friendly, and innovative than Google has managed to do.

Searching for images with Bing is thankfully very simple, in just a few easy steps you'll be able to easily hunt down just about any sort of picture you could imagine. First off, you must go to www.Bing.com in order to access the search engine. You will be greeted by a fancy looking homepage. Look at the menu to your left, and click on the tab that reads "images". At this point, you should see the homepage change, and there will be a text-box near the top of the page. Enter whatever search term you want in there, and your results will show up in the space below that box. And that's it, you have performed a basic image-search by using Bing.

However, now it's time to take advantage of the many features that Bing offers. By utilizing these, it will become easy to find the perfect image for your needs. Like Google, Bing features a "safesearch" feature. Basically, what it does it filter the content of the images displayed, to make sure that no inappropriate content is displayed. You can edit this feature by clicking "change", which is located right next to the SafeSearch text, right under the search text-box. You can also see a number of related search terms in the menu on your left hand side. This is useful, especially if you did not find exactly what you were looking for. Right below this menu, is another one that specifies on the kinds of pictures. There are many things that you can base your search on. For example, you may want only pictures that include a person's face, or only pictures of a certain color. Perhaps you only want to see very small, or very large images? This feature is extremely helpful, and it clearly marks Bing as clearly superior to Google, as far as image-searching goes.

Those are all the major features of Bing's image search. There are several small, aesthetic options you change, such as how many images show up on one page, but that's all based on your personal preference. The aforementioned features should be all you need to find the perfect image for whatever purpose you may have. Happy Searching!
