What Dad doesn't appreciate a homemade inexpensive gift. What better way to say I Love You Dad than with a unique homemade gift that is easy on your wallet!

Dad's Catch-all Container - You will need: an inexpensive box, bowl, or basket which you should be able to find in your local thrift store or check around in your attic or basement. Inexpensive decorative paper such as contact paper, comic book pages, fishing magazine pages, or sports magazine pages are a few ideas. Color coordinated felt for the interior of your container, scissors, and adhesive. My preference for adhesive is either a glue gun or instant bonding glue, both can be picked up at a craft store. Glue your felt piece inside the container and leave a bit of overhang, which should be wrapped over the edge and glued to the exterior. Next carefully cover the exterior with your inexpensive decorative paper. In seconds you have created a homemade, inexpensive container for Dad to drop his keys, wallet, comb, or any other items he needs to empty from his pockets into. Dad will thank you for this last minute, unique, and homemade gift.

Dad Don't Forget Calendar - You will need: An inexpensive unique calendar which you can find in your local dollar store. Pick up inexpensive and colorful stickers and markers which can also be found in your local dollar store. Next mark off all special occasions on the calendar. Use both stickers and markers to remind Dad of those special occasions. A great idea is to also put a reminder sticker one week before the event so Dad doesn't wait until the last minute for gifts or cards.

Special Dessert Coupon Book - You will need: a small inexpensive memo book from your local dollar store . Old magazines, pens or markers, scissors, and glue. Cut out pictures of your Dad's favorite desserts. Glue one picture to each page and write a little note stating that this coupon entitles your Dad to a special dessert. Specify the dessert and make sure some desserts are last minute favorites. You have just created a unique homemade, and inexpensive gift for your special Dad.

Homemade Change Jar - You will need a simple jar, vase, or glass, as long as it is clear. Make it unique to your Dad by decorating one side with things that remind you of your Dad. You can use wrapping paper, contact paper, or ribbon, but make sure to leave enough clear space so Dad can see exactly how much change he is saving.
