Relationships: Advice on 'letting go' >

In many relationships, it seems that couples break-up just to make-up. It's weird. It seems like a never-ending game. Folk make excuses to do their own thing with someone else is no new game. Men finding it difficult to let go of women they've spent a considerable amount of time with who have also developed a history with that may include ties with one another's family members and friends. Women get fed up with his cheap way of showing her a good time, while he holds back on her investing in other interests he has going on.

Let's face it, men have a 'fish pool' of women to choose from in whatever type he so chooses to spend time with; and, their women find themselves competing with that. That's the real deal in what many of today's couples are going through. And, depending on her age she just doesn't fit the mold. So, men become escape artists.

From the movie "Something's Gotta Give," 'Accomplished women, who are single and over fifty, are endangered species; they are considered spinsters, old maids and a threat to most men. On the other hand, men who are single and over fifty are elusive, un-gettable and a good catch. They are the available guys that are her age who wants someone younger; someone who looks like their daughter. The whole 'over fifty' dating scene is geared towards men leaving older women out; they, in turn, become more and more productive, and therefore, more interesting which makes them more undesirable to men. Let's face it single older women (as a demographic) are as messed up of a group that exists'.

We don't really know these folk who enter our lives who seem to be good catches; those who make promises, yet never seem to be able to deliver on them. They have these expectations they become frustrated with when things don't go their way; and blame the other for not being 'mind-readers'; they give the minimum of themselves and expect the maximum from you. And, when you don't deliver, they escape.

So, worldly women continue to play the game, go crazy, or choose to let go. Christian women hold on to the promises that God will provide all their needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. There's no other way to escape the heartaches and disappointments 'worldly' love connections exude. The promises of God are so worth waiting for.

When we make our own choices, it seems to always be the wrong ones. My advice for women, as well as men would be to let go of those who can't seem to get it together and prepare yourselves for who it is God has in store for you. Mankind will fail you but, Jesus never fails.
