The wait is finally over! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally out. Mw2 was arguably the most highly anticipated game of 2009. People preordered this game months in advance in order to skip the wait in line, or to make sure they would have a copy. The day after the game was released I went to the store thinking that this game would be completely sold out for weeks. When I got to the store, I was shocked to find out that there were plenty of copies of the game. I guess I did not need to pre-order the game after all!
As many people know, Call of Duty: Modern warfare 2 is the sequel to Call od Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Mw2 takes place after the fourth game when you kill Makarov at the end of the game. Although this game is a sequel, you do not need to own the previous modern warfare game to understand the story mode which is great. The story mode is extremely cinematic in every aspect, whether you are driving off of cliffs or running down the streets of Brazil. The graphics in the game are good, but not what I expected them to be. Although the graphics did not impress me greatly, they are still crisp and and clear. In this game there are three modes: Spec Ops, Campaign mode, and multiplayer. The spec ops mode is Mw2's version of Nazi Zombies (although it does not have anything to do with zombies) Spec Ops is a two player mode where you and your friend can battle through small missions and try and complete the given objective. This mode is extremely fun, especially if you are playing with one of your friends. Next is Campaign mode, which is pretty self explanatory. You pick up where you left off in Cod 4, and you are a member of the united states army. You are trying to capture Makarov's son who escaped in the last game.
The next mode is Multiplayer. Multiplayer consists of several different modes: Online multiplayer, or local multiplayer which can hold up to four people playing from the same house. The online mode is extremely addictive, although you can get extremely frustrated. Most people so far have been extremely hyper defensive or "camping".
Overall, Modern Warfare 2 is a definite must buy and will be loads of fun for all ages.
