Whirlwind
Gathering the debris off the whirlwind with my eyes,
Perhaps I shall see better with my eyes shut tight.
For the sights that I see are startling visions of crude wrecks
I shall sit back and dream up my world, myself.
I shall dream up a world on Utopia's chest
For reality offers no chance to repair
Back to the eden where conscience dwells.
Charge me not as a traitor, country mine
My leave is only but saintly and fair,
And I will awake when you are cleansed by time,
Unstained and unchanged
You to embrace.
