Being a Christian isn't about the deeds you do here on Earth. You cannot get to Heaven by doing good works. You can't get to Heaven by pretending to believe in God. You also can't get to Heaven by popularity. In John 3 verse 16 Jesus tells us the only way into Heaven. "For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth shall not perish but have everlasting life."

The way to become a Christian is to first accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You must mean it with your entire heart and soul. Once you have done that, your life will change. Ask forgiveness of those who you have wronged. Give forgiveness to those who have wronged you and everything else will follow. God promises us that he will always be there for us. He knows that we are human and that we have faults. We sin by our very nature. When we become Christians, it means that we become Christ like. Jesus was the only perfect human that ever walked the face of the Earth. He came to show us how to be Christians and then he died on the cross in Calvary to wash away your sins.

You cannot get to Heaven unless you accept that gift. If you don't accept, you cannot become a Christian. Good works are wonderful here on Earth, but that isn't what matters. If you are a Christian, your new nature will be to do those good works. As a Christian, you are to tell others about God and his plan for us. You are to share the "Good News" with others. You are to work diligently in order to bring others to Jesus.

Being a Christian doesn't mean that we are perfect. It means that we are forgiven our sins. Unless we forgive others our sins, we are no better than they are. Our enemies we must love as well as our friends. It is easy to love your friends but not so easy to love your enemies.

Once you have become a Christian with the true belief that Jesus is in your heart forever more, there is nothing that you can't make happen. But the only way there is through him. You cannot talk to God unless you know Jesus. God knows all of us. He knows how many hairs are on our very heads. He gives us light and eternal life as long as we accept that one fact.

Stop trying to do good works and thinking that it's enough to get you into Heaven. If you don't have faith, as a little child, you cannot get into the Kingdom of Heaven. If you can't believe the impossible, you can't get into Heaven. Who would believe that a man would willingly take up a cross in the way Jesus did? Would you do it? I don't think I would. You become a Christian by believing the truth about Jesus.
