Poetry: A walk through life

by Jeremy Ford

Created on: November 20, 2009

With the opening of plastered eyelids with smells of lilac and turnips,

a jolt into the incandescence and the first galvanization of mental frequency,

I step under the moonlit sky, and roar toward it,

and experience a brief absence of all catechized conventional decency.

Through a stepping stone passed childhood imagination,

a trip to wonderland on the midnight special,

a pain arises evoked by indignation,

and dissipates across the reality vestibule.

Now laying in bed with the love of a lifetime,

I see the miracles imagined by the child,

and realizing that nothing can truly be mine,

I experience the truth and purpose for the first time and unveil the mask of the wild.
