if you ever plan on walking down Hollywood Blvd and meeting your favourite celebrity, there are some basic rules you will need to follow so that you don't end up on the tail end of a restraining order.
Firstly, If you see them, smile in their direction. A smile is contagious and chances are if they see you smiling they will smile back. If they do smile back then you have their attention. Now, its important that you now rush up to them and start telling them how good they are and how much you like their movies. They already know they are good, their bank account balance proves that.
If your favourite celebrity is out with their family, refrain from approaching them. Imagine how you would feel if a stranger approached your child and called them by their name. It would make you uncomfortable, right? Well, the same goes for celebrity parents. If you happen to meet a celebrity and their child at a public park, don't make your kids play with their kids. It is obvious, trust me. Just let it happen, who knows your child may be best friends with Suri Cruise before you know it. Remember, it is still not appropriate to address the celebrity child by his/her first name unless you have been introduced.
If you see a celebrity at a local restaurant act natural. It is fine to look at them once, but do not stare. It isn't polite and it makes people uncomfortable. It is important that you do not cause a scene because chances are the restaurant will have you kicked out. The same goes for the movie theatre, the grocery store, or any other public place that a celebrity may be found.
This is important. If by chance a celebrity approaches you and asks a question, first of all. Don't focus on their face. Chances are you will hyperventilate, or worse. You may even end up jumping up and down screaming. Instead, focus on the question being asked and only after you have formulated the answer in your brain, look at the celebrity and calmly answer them. Please avoid touching the celebrity, they don't like being touched by strangers anymore than you do.
Now that you have mastered meeting a celebrity in public, we will talk about dating a celebrity. Remember, there is nothing sacred. The paparazzi will find out every piece of dirt about you they can and publish it in the next issue of Star magazine. You will miraculously appear in a love triangle with Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie when you adopt a baby from Ethiopia and your ex boyfriend/girlfriend will sell the rights to a sex tape that you didn't know existed.
The moral of the story is, even though their lives seem glamorous. They really aren't. I don't know how they do it. Living their lives behind a camera lense, always having to watch what they wear, what they eat, how much they weight. My advice, if you see a celebrity, thank God that you are not them.
