Poetry: Can you see me?

by Kemyia Austin

Created on: November 19, 2009

Is it true?

Is it you?

Is it me?

Oh, I see. You think you have found me but you really don't see.

Everyday your eyes gaze upon mine, you shout out my name as if you can recognize

the many sides to my personality, but let me ask you, can you see me?

We dance around in the brightest of days and you hold my hand so I won't get away.

You shelter my heart to what you want it to be but can you see me?

As you watch my feet carry me away everytime I leave you and you must say

I love you baby and soon we will see but can you see me?

Hidden away behind my many faces you claim to know about my many changes

so I know for a fact that this is to be, you can not see me.

No matter how much my love may draw you near, it is your eyes that has my body in fear

because I know that I am invisible but I am hoping it isn't true, let me finally ask you

Can you see me?
