Teachers play a major role in the development of the children who are in their classes. Throughout the school year there is a great deal of interaction between the students and their teacher, and everyday classroom activities that are part of the lesson plan can have a positive, or negative result on the children involved. Teachers do have a wide field of knowledge in their subject area, and have the ability to stimulate learning by their teaching techniques, and instill a positive connection to the students they are responsible for. Of course on the other hand a negative response can also occur, which is unfortunate for both teacher, and student alike.
Parents are the most influential people in their children's life. They are the first teachers that children will be in contact with. Their presence, and love will benefit these tiny beings who will bring so much to the world they live in. It is very important that the parent respects their child's teacher, and the child is made aware of the significance the teacher will be in the development of a smarter intellect that will be needed for them to grow, and thrive in society. For the most part, teachers are dedicated to their profession, and do have patience enough to deal with the everyday struggles of working with children. They take pride in their work, and care about all the students they are given.
It is essential that parents protect their children in every way possible. Of course if there is any suspicion of wrong doing are the part of the teacher it should be addressed immediately. This scenario can unfortunately creep into the fabric of society, but, thank God this is the exception and not the rule. The parent should always be on the same page as the teacher(no pun intended,) when it comes to the academic standards the child is required to fulfill. It is vital that the parent tells the child to respect their teachers, and parents should never talk badly about the teacher, especially in front of the child. This will send a mixed message to the young child.
Boundaries, should be explained where the teacher is a friend, who has their best interest in mind, but, the student, teacher relationship is different than the friendships they make with their classmates. The parent needs to remind their children that the teacher is the authority in the classroom, and needs to be heard, obeyed, and respected in order to maintain order, and stability in their learning environment.
The classroom experience can be very rewarding to the children who are part of this setting. Likability is important, and goes a long way in making positive experiences that will be remembered, and enjoyed. Respecting one another is the key to a good work environment. Not being at odds with each other will further enhance the overall day, and ultimately the school year which is important in the ongoing development of the children, academically, and socially.
Parents' positive responses to their children's teachers will help the children view the teacher with respect, and dignity. This mind set will directly foster a better student-teacher relationship which will be an asset to both the teacher and the students alike. It takes work on the part of all people involved to develop positive student teacher relationships, but, it is worth the time, and effort for worthwhile results.
