Testimonies: Why I am thankful this Thanksgiving

There are so many things we have to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. I have compiled a list that most of us can relate to. Although you may not be able to relate to every single item on the list, I would bet that you relate to almost all of them. It's so easy to focus on the things that we don't have and take for granted the good things in our life. My goal for this article is to remind us all of how much God has richly blessed each and everyone of our lives. Of course, there are many other blessings that are not listed, but these alone are enough to be exceedingly grateful for!

1) Food on the table (not just at thanksgiving, but everyday).

2) Time with friends and family (sometimes the holidays are the only time we make time for our families).

3) A job. With the economy the way it is, if you're one of the lucky ones to have a job, please don't take it for granted!

4) Having bills to pay! I know it may sound crazy, but if you have bills to pay, then you're getting something in return. Many people don't even have a home to have electricity. They'd probably love to be able to pay their electric bill! Be grateful for these bills, because it means you're blessed!

5) A vehicle for transportation. If you're like me, you may not even have the greatest car. Sometimes I wonder if it's even going to start most mornings but it does. I'm so grateful that I have a vehicle to get me where I need to go.

6) My health. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfectly healthy, but I'm not in the hospital right now either. If you're still living, you still have some health left in you. Be grateful for it.

7) The clothes on your back. Most of us have the option of styles of clothes. We don't have to worry about staying warm this winter. Remember to be grateful for that pair of gloves (even if they have a little hole in them). Many people struggle to find enough warm clothes to wear through the winter.

8) Challenges. For it is the challenges in our lives that help us learn, grow, and become stronger.

9) Technology. Today's times allow us to have cell phones, central heat and air, highways, e-mail, digital cameras, and so much more! Be grateful for all the technologies in your life and all the people who challenged themselves to create such great inventions. It is for this that our lives are made much easier.

10)

Freedom. We shouldn't just be grateful for our military on Veteran's Day. We should thank them for all they do everyday. We should keep them in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
