REASONS A MAN WILL MARRY A WOMAN

Depending on which man we are talking about, it could be for one of many reasons or a mixture of several or the whole lot.

We are supposed to get married for love, so some men will ask a woman to marry him when he feels he is in love with her.

Others marry because they fancy her and think she is beautiful and love having sex with her, especially if she is refusing to have sex until after marriage. I once knew a man who would ask women to get engaged to him to be married as a ploy to try to get them into bed but what the women he kept asking did not know was that he already had two so-called fiances who had fallen for that and were giving him sex. He would then keep putting off the marriage date itself or find an excuse to wriggle out of it and call the wedding off.

Some men marry a woman because she is pregnant and he feels obliged to look after her or stop her being alone and single. These marriages rarely last or are ever really happy as they are not starting off for the right reasons.

With older men who have been married before, some of them want to get married so that they have someone there to cook, clean and iron their shirts for them. They have always had their mother and then another wife look after them in practical ways and do not want to do it themselves.

Sometimes men marry because they hate the idea of going to work and then coming home to an empty place, where they rattle around on their own or have to go out to have company. The trouble with this is they are tempted to get married in such a panic they might propose to almost anyone who is single in a desperate effort to stop being single themselves rather than waiting for someone they love, have a lot in common with and like to come along.

I have also known men to marry for material gain or money given half a chance. Especially if they are lazy and do not work or are in a mediocre badly paid job and do not have any possessions of any real worth already.

It is rare but some men, especially older men who do not like their own company and are maybe retired, will marry for friendship rather than be alone. They may realise that there is no grand passion or being in love with the person but they would rather settle for the friendship than live alone.

A man who is lonely might marry a woman because she is a good cook and he realises or believes he cannot get someone where he has a full relationship with the person, but he would rather be with someone who can at least look after him foodwise than not at all.

Whilst it is rare, you will also get men who marry because their wife is a showpiece and good at entertaining their business acquaintances, someone who is good at talking to them and hosting dinner parties and venues. In this case, he might not love her at all but look upon her as a business asset where it is all show.

There are probably a hundred other reasons why some men have married women and each man will have his own reasons, all that matters is that he is glad that he married her and she is glad that she married him.
