The best toddler toys for 2009

by Mrs. A. Verret

Created on: November 19, 2009

Shopping for a toddler toy can be easy. The thing is, not all toys are great. When looking for a toy you want something that is durable, entertaining and if possible, teaches kids something too. And sometimes, there are those times when we don't want to break the bank buying one toy. Believe it or not, children can have the same amount of fun with a $10 toy compared to a $100 toy.

I have made a list of 10 great gifts, for toddlers, priced at $25 or less. These are great toys that have received a rating of 4 out of 5 stars or higher from Viewpoints.com. Hopefully, this list can help in making purchases for toddlers. All of these toys are great and I highly recommend them all. Happy shopping!

Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Mower ($25) 5 out of 5 stars

The Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Lawn Mower will let your child's creativity come alive. Let your little one mow the grass or the carpet! With 3 modes of play, this toy will surely be loved. The mower even features sounds of a real mower! When your little one pushes the mower the balls on the top start to spin around. This toy is sort of like the old push ball poppers. My son loves this toy. This is sure to be a hit!

Recommended for children ages 12 months to 3 years.

Playskool Busy Ball Popper ($25) 4.16 out of 5 stars

The Playskool Busy Ball Popper is a fun interactive toy that will bring delight to any child. Place one of the 5 colorful balls down a spiraling track and push the big red button for fun. Children's eyes will light up when they see the balls shoot out the top and back down onto the track. This toy makes fun sounds and plays music to have fun too. Both of my children enjoyed this toy from an early age. It is lots of fun and any kid would enjoy it.

Recommended for children ages 12 months and up.

Playskool Busy Ball Choo Choo ($25) 4.5 out of 5 stars

Let your little one be the conductor of this train of fun. The battery operated train comes with 3 colorful balls. The train has four settings in all. It can be set to stationary or moving and it can pop the balls out from the back or recycle them through the train. This toy can help children through hands-on exploration through sight, sounds and touch. This choo choo would make an excellent gift.

Recommended for children ages 9 months and up.
