Monday is spelling lesson
When all of us will listen
Eager and silent, we tarry
For our teacher to hurry
Smilingly, she asks the class
Who can spell the word 'Glass'
At at once, our hands raise high
I can, I can, shouts one behind
Her eyes will lit up
When a word is spelt right
But a wrong will cause
Her nice face to look cross
She buys lots of candy
To reward us a many
One sweet for one right
I collect them in stride
Today I have five
And I wait for mom to arrive
To show my palm of sweets
Which I score in a sweep
A Whiz, Mom will call me
How many more you need?
To fill to the brim
A few more, I beam
Open my bottle, I cry
One, two, three, four, five
One by one, it lands in a heap
It's almost full, I will reap
Fill to the brim, come Monday
Again I will excel, on that day
Meanwhile, I will learn and read
The words, for the coming week
