Belief in the kingdom of God is the basis of Christian faith. Following Jesus is the Christian way of living to reach that kingdom of God. Thy kingdom come is the prayer of Christianity. The promise of Jesus, Seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:31-32) is the hope of Christianity.

Kingdom of God The Mission of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ came into his world with the mission, The kingdom of God is at hand. He told about the nature of that kingdom, ways and means to reach that kingdom, rules and regulations or commandments which can lead to that kingdom and joyful life of that kingdom. In his preaching Jesus clearly stated that by the mission of sending His Son, the Heavenly Father reinstated His decision to make the humans inherit the kingdom of God.

Ten Christian Views of the Kingdom of God

1 The Kingdom of God is Liberation

The important characteristic of the Kingdom of God is liberation. Real freedom. Freedom from all the fetters. It is setting us free from the bondages of Satan's power, sin, disease, and death. It is the beginning of a new life. It is reflected in the very beginning of Christ's ministry when he claimed, Today the scripture has been fulfilled. (Luke 4:21) Jesus Christ sets out to preach is new message about the Kingdom of God. Liberation is the charter of the Kingdom of God.

2) Christ Calls Us Today to Come into that Kingdom

Preparing people for the awaiting kingdom, John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! (Matthew 3:1-2). And Jesus declares that the right time has come for the Kingdom of God. Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel. (Mark 1:14-15) It is call not only for the people of Judea 2000 years ago but t is also a clarion call for us who live today.

3) The Kingdom of God is Within Us

Jesus promises that Kingdom of God has been already set in us. For indeed, the kingdom of God is 'within you' (Luke 17:20) He shows the way to find out that kingdom within us by faithful love. If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (John 14:23-24) If God resides in us it becomes the place of heavenly kingdom.

4) It is an Eternal Kingdom
