The winter is upon us, and the kids will be spending more time inside then they usually do. Although it is cold outside there are still a lot of fun winter activities to do at home with the kids. Shorter hours of daylight and colder weather may keep kids indoors, but this means you have to bring the fun inside with you. 1. Baking is a great winter activity to do at home with kids because it helps keep the house warm. Baking breads, cakes, and muffins are a fun way to teach kids will spending quality time with them. This winter activity is guaranteed to please your kids and your stomach.

2. Teaching a kid how to make a scarf or hat is a great winter activity for kids to do at home, but if you do not know how to crochet or knit this is difficult. Try making a personalized hooded sweatshirt with you kids this winter. Try using iron on patches, ribbon, and other fun items you can find at your local craft store for this project. This activity is a fun project that kids can do at home, and it will keep your kids happy and warm this winter.

3. Painting a mural is another fun activity that kids can do at home this winter. For this project you will need paintbrushes and acrylic paint. If you do not want to permanently alter the wall use several pieces of contact paper or vinyl sheets. These can be removed from the wall using alcohol. Help your kids pick out a nice theme for the wall and research images for inspiration together. This project is a lot of fun, and you kids will enjoy this winter activity all year round.

4. The end of the winter can be hard on kids sometimes because they know the summer is coming soon, and they are getting bored of playing inside so often, but creating a scrap book can be a great remedy to this ailment. All you will need for this winter activity at home is photos, a photo album, markers, stickers, and other fun items that you have saved over time. Create different sections for the scrap book, and remember to customize the cover. Your kids will have a great time with this fun winter activity.

5. Another fun winter activity for kids at home is a living room picnic. This is a fun way to be creative and imaginative with kids this winter. For this at home activity simply set up a blanket in the living room. You can also pack a basket lunch ahead of time, and watch movies that remind you of spring and summer.
