Poetry: I can't love you anymore

by ElliotPhaber

Created on: November 19, 2009

I've been down this road so many times before

I've walked out so many times through that door

God's will can't even help me settle this score

And I decided that I can't love you anymore

Do you remember the first time we fought?

Reconciliation is the only thing that I sought,

But you wanted much more than I thought

You wanted something that couldn't be bought

I fell to the floor in a speed not unlike slow motion

You said that I caused such a huge commotion;

You told me to just give up all of my devotion

And the whole event made me void of emotion

At one point, we both knew something had to go

I'm just so sorry that I came to this conclusion too slow

Maybe one day this won't seem like such a deadly blow,

But my heart won't believe it until you aren't so low

And I know now that I can't love you anymore,

So don't you dare try to deceive me anymore

Because my heart can't take this anymore

And I won't take this anymore
