Winter is magical! The winter time brings people together. The cool crisp breeze that feels like it is cutting through to the bones makes people want to stay inside longer. The anticipation of precipitation also known as the white stuff keeps people inside where they are safe. While inside enjoying the beautiful painting of snow outside, families can entertain each other.

It is a time to have game night more often. Playing inside games is a great way to get to know the kids' personalities. Their response to whether they win or lose plays is a personality trait parents should be aware. There is also movie night. Families can invite other families in their neighborhood to watch a movie and get to know one another. Another great thing to do is to cook.

Cooking brings people together like nothing else and it is also a great way to warm the house with a hot oven smelling delicious. Snuggling by the warm fireplace with a companion after the kids are asleep is always magical. If a person is single, it is a good opportunity to dust off the books on the shelf, cuddle with a big fleece blanket and start reading again.

The winter time is also magical because of the joyous holidays. It is a time of celebration as soon as the first day of winter hits December twenty first. It is a time to celebrate Christmas or whatever the family believes. It is so exciting to see the lights everywhere that people have worked so hard to decorate. The light in people is also enjoyable as they give to others who are in need.

The family can give together by volunteering at charities and going caroling to cheer people up who do not have loved ones. The children are excited about the holidays as they wait eagerly to see if they receive what they asked. They are also filled with joy because of the winter break from doing school work.

The celebration of the New Year bring about thankfulness and anxiousness. Everyone is thankful they made it through the past year but look forward to the next. People set goals to fulfill their hopes and dreams. A family can write down their hopes and dreams together as well as individually.

The children should write down goals they want to accomplish for the new year as well. It is healthy for them to start thinking about their future especially if they are middle school age and older.

Winter time is a great opportunity to be creative no matter where you live or what size of the family. It is a time of celebration and a time of sharing. It is also a time of being thankful and meditating on the future. The winter has so much in store for everyone. It is such a magical time of year.
