I whole-heartedly believe that this world, our world, would be a far better place without greed in it. Why? Because I truly believe with all of my heart that "greed", by all means, is Earths' Cancer.
Greed is a human characteristic you know. Human being created Greed, and, if the Bible is indeed true, than greed began the moment the glorious forbidden apple was taken from Eden's tree and consumed. How sad is that?
Theology
Greed is the excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of money, wealth, power. It is generally considered a vice, and is one of the seven deadly sins in Catholicism. (wikipedia.com)
The Definition of "Greed"
Greed (also called avarice) in psychology is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth. ( http://www.thefreedictionary.com/greed )
Why was it that more than Six Million Jews lives were taken in the Holocaust? Why did Saddam Hussein take the lives of so many human beings? Why are so many forests being destroyed? Why are so many animals being killed, or worse, driven to extinction?
Why do some people have more than they can ever truly need, while others are homeless, often times unable to even benefit from the simple luxury of toilet paper? Why are Human Beings, and animals as well, starving, some to death?
Why are there WARS? Why do we insist on sitting down, or running around doing everything we are told, lying, cheating, and manipulating the masses to put another buck in the pocket of somebody whom really doesn't need it at the expense of our humanity? Why are we building the Earths' population when we can't safely sustain those already here?
The answer my friends, is greed.
Imagine if you will, what the world would be like if we treated every human being on this beautiful earth equally. Sadly, the keyword here is; IMAGINE.
You see, unfortunately history has proven time and time again that the state of equality is nothing more than mere fantasy; a fabulous, beautiful, spectacular fantasy, yet still nothing more than mere fantasy; albeit the sweetest of dreams. Why you ask, because greed exists today as largely as ever, and I truly believe, though it is absolutely disheartening for me to actually, personally, put pen to paper so-to-speak, greed, is here to stay.
But, what if each of us individually invested in improving the life of any other human being with the simple notion of creating a wave of change bringing one human being at a time toward a level of quality of life merely equal to each other? One can only hope.

I can't make you open your heart, but I can dream. I CAN DREAM... Can't I?
