Open Highway
She packed her suitcase
and she opened up the door;
She walked right through it
like a hundred times before;
Fifteen years of living
and some dreams she left behind,
but the memories
kept playing on her mind...
So she hit the open highway
and pressed hard on the gas;
The memories coudn't catch her
if she was going fast;
She let her hair blow out the window
as she flew down 95
She felt so free and thanked the Lord
that she was still alive.
Tears streamed down her face,
remembering how it used to be,
remembering love so strong,
she was too blind to see;
Love was not enough
to dry up all her tears;
Love was not enough
to erase all her fears...
So she hit the open highway
and pressed hard on the gas;
The memories couldn't catch her
if she was going fast;
She let her hair blow out the window
as she flew down 95
She felt so free and thanked the Lord
that she was still alive,
that she was still alive....
