Who controls your life?

Who's in Control of my life - God or Me?

As a Christian, my purpose is to live a life that God directs. While I'm great at giving some things to Him, I struggle in many other areas of my life. I found myself making decisions based off of the decisions of other great Christian people, rather than seeking the answer from God. I guess I did this because it felt it was easier or maybe I was afraid of the answer God would give me. Either way, God must be the one to dictate our lives as Christians. I have found a few areas that many people struggle giving over to the Lord. Do you struggle with any of these areas? Are you willing to give God COMPLETE control?

Birth-control

I'm starting big right off the bat! Like many young Christian women, I abstained from sex until my wedding day. As soon as I got married, I started on the pill. Isn't that what everyone does? I mean it IS accepted in society AND the church. Why would I question it or even seek God in the matter? The pill ended up making me nauseas and messed with my hormones. I began seeking others forms of birth-control. After finding an alternative form, I had no issues with birth-control. That is, until I started hearing from non-Christian doctors and others that birth-control often causes miscarriages. I simply didn't believe it. I knew lots of genuine Christian women who were on birth-control and didn't seem to have any spiritual struggles with taking the pill. What I later found out is that most women were simply ignorant of the facts. Even when I found out the facts about birth-control, I tried to defend it or find ways to justify my taking it: "I can't afford to have a child right now, it would be irresponsible to have a dozen children, having too many kids might hinder my ministry for God, I couldn't financially provide for a child and give him/her everything they deserve," and any other reasonable excuse I could think of. The simple fact was, I didn't feel that I was ready for children. Basically, I felt that I knew better than God. Sure, some people state that God gave us the reasonable sense to use the technology of medicine (which is true to an extent). I don't think the problem is that most of us believe that God created this pill for us (why wouldn't He just let us decide if it were up to us?). Remember, the Bible does say, Be fruitful and multiply. The problem is that everyone wants to be settled in their life before they have children. We want to control when, how many, and the circumstances
