This is the song of my soul
A discordant mixture
Of bravery and cowardice
Highs and lows tangled
Forming a barely discernible
Pitch of melody
He, a soft sweet high note
Sounding every so often
For him I forsake all
That has come before
What a mess we made
The moment lips touched
Soft capturing and releasing
A laughingly played game
Home ceased existence
Original birth had no claim
My greatest love no more
Rolling green waves tugging
Endlessly at my ankles
I have given up much
Everything for him
My claim of stability
Dually enticing and dull
With no surprises
No adjustment period
No real love
No meeting of the minds
