Poetry: Thanksgiving prayers

by Paula Love

Created on: November 17, 2009

Thank you for my Mom and Dad

They love me even when I've been bad

Thank you also for Poppy and Nan

They play with me as much as they can

Thank you for our puppy dog, Tye

He licks my tears away when I cry

Thank you for my baby doll

With her around I'm not alone at all

Thank you for my teacher at school

All us kids think she's really cool

Thank you for the sun so bright

That chases away the scary night

I hope you hear my Thanksgiving prayer

And bless us all with your loving care

My prayer isn't quite finished yet

I hope you didn't think I'd forget

Even though we sometimes fought

Now that he's gone I miss him a lot

So I thank you for my brother Joe

If you see him today please tell him hello
