Exercise should be an integral part of your daily life. Even if you do not plan on losing any weight, you can still exercise in order to help you maintain your ideal weight. After all, the equation for weight loss and for achieving one's ideal weight involves both a healthy diet and a good dose of exercise.
Weight loss and weight maintenance works in a simple manner. In order to lose weight, you have to follow the basic weight loss equation: eat less calories than you burn per day, or burn more calories per day than the calories that you consume. At any rate, you cannot eat the same amount because you will only be able to maintain your weight.
That is the key to maintaining your weight. If you want to lose weight, you have to exercise more. If you have to maintain your weight, you have to create a balance between the number of calories you consume and the number of calories that you lose.
Some people believe that continuing their current lifestyle will help them avoid gaining weight. They feel that if they do not eat more or they do not exercise any more than they already do, they can maintain their weight. However, this concept does not hold true, since you can still gain weight even if you exercise. Not surprisingly, however, you cannot lose weight if you do not exercise or eat less.
In order to maintain your ideal weight, you have to first reach it and then continue to exercise as you normally do. However, you might also have to increase or maintain the number of repetitions or miles in your routine. For example, if you have been running four miles per week in order to lose weight, you will need to continue running four miles per week in order to support and strengthen your muscles. If you start running less or doing fewer repetitions, you may experience some weight gain.
Fortunately, you can easily maintain your weight by just simply following the basic rule of weight loss, mentioned above. Remember that the number involved in each factor should be equal if you want to maintain your ideal weight (or your current weight) and less on one side if you want to lose weight.
Exercise is an important part of daily life. People should exercise at least 30 minutes a day, whether or not they want to lose weight. As you can see, exercise is also important in helping you to maintain your ideal weight.
