What are the main causes of weight gain

People can gain weight for a variety of reasons. People's hecic daily lives many not allow for healthy choices, and as a result people begin to gradually gain weight sometimes without even realizing it. Weight gain is sometimes caused by the reasons below:

Stress

Our lives are filled with busyness, and often we do not have time to think about our health, especially the number that reads on a scale. Stress is like a silent killer, too, since many people do not realize how stressful their lives are until they experience headaches, bodily aches and pains, among other things.

Stress also affects people, mentally, in different ways. For some, they handle stress through constant exercise. For others, eating more is their solution.

Genetics

Your genes will play a vital role in determining how easily you will gain weight, and where that weight will be distributed. For some people, their genetics will dominate all of the other factors that contribute to weight gain. For some others, genetics will play a small part.

Not many people can deny their genes, and they will have to take pills or learn how to regulate their diet. However, it is possible to try to make genes' influence as little as possible. Always talk to your doctor or nutritionist before you start taking pills (whether prescription, OTC, or natural, as well as supplements). You will be able to tell if you really need those pills or not.

Lifestyle

Diet and exercise will fall into this category. These two things contribute to a person's lifestyle. For example, what kind of diet does a person have? Do they exercise on a daily basis? If, for the first question, the person does not have a healthy diet, they will probably have an increased chance of gaining weight. If the person does not exercise often, he or she will again have an increased chance of gaining weight. The same holds true for the second question. If you are not active enough and you do not have a healthful diet, you will gain weight. If you do not exercise enough but you do have a healthy diet, you will still have a chance of gaining weight.

Stress, genetics, and lifestyle all play important roles when it comes to determining a person's risk, or likelihood, of gaining weight. So, if you want to avoid gaining weight, try to control these factors as much as possible.
