Tis' the season for holiday decorating. This year give your home a distinct holiday atmosphere and do it inexpensively. It's all about the details, the little nostalgic touches here and there that really grab your guests attention. Displays of pine cones, evergreen, fruits, flowers, vegetables and a few personal touches allowing your home to have an unmistakable holiday quality.
Adorn the front door with homemade wreaths of Christmas cheer. Simple, unique and extraordinary. Your guests will fall in love with these festive items as much as you did while making them. Make a wreath of evergreens. A foam wreath filled with sprigs of cedar and pine. Not only does this offer a wonderful aroma sublime for Christmas but a beautiful traditional holiday decoration fine for the front door. Add in bright red dogwood branches for a little festive color and tie on a few cinnamon sticks with brown string to finish the complimented look for Christmas. Make a wreath with a fresh idea. Cover your foam wreath with sprigs of evergreen. Tie on fresh fruits such as oranges along with dried orange slices. Wrap around the wreath several times a string of popcorn, tie it all off with a red gingham plaid ribbon giving this wreath a country aesthetic. Or a beautiful yellow silk ribbon for a more formal affair.
Welcome your guests with a dramatic and bold entrance. Cover a two foot radius around your front door with large sprigs of cedar. Make a garland of pine cones and encompass the area with an outdoor retreat. Paint your pine cones, bringing out their festive nature. Paint a few of your pine cones white and fill up a basket, make a garland or create a centerpiece for your table. Sugar pine cones are a delightful accessory to create a centerpiece from because of their size.
Evergreen abundantly used through out your home as an accent or commanding the center of attention-creates a scene of warmth and holiday cheer. Create soft warm ambeince with the scent and arrangment of candles and pine. Place on a festive holiday tray a group of pine boughs with an array of candles. Tall, small, round, votives. Candles of every shape and size can grace this arrangment adding to it's dramatic appeal. Place a few poinsettias inside an antique box. Use a rustic urn on each side of the fireplace. Arrange several poinsettias in an urn along with twigs of holly and holiday greens, this gives your fireplace warm and dramatic holiday expression.
