*~ Just Another Memory ~*
My tiny fingers linked with yours.
You held on tight and told me not worry.
That you'll always be there to open the doors.
But then you let go and told me to hurry.
I raced after you but I ran out of time.
I watched you slip away, your hand without mine.
I called for you but you never reached back.
I cried for you as my heart was no longer in tact.
Now you don't see me, it's like I don't exist.
I'll do anything to replace all the things that we missed.
I wish I could hug you but I know I can't.
It wouldn't be right because you're too much of a man.
But I'm your baby sis, like you always said.
If only you knew what was going through my head.
But now I'm reaching out for the fingers that I lack.
Why did you have to let go & never look back?
When I put that pistol to my head,
Were you thinking about all the shit that you've said?
When I placed my finger over the trigger,
Tell me, did that make you shiver?
When you found out that there were no bullets in that gun,
Did you even stop to think about everything we've ever done?
When you found out that I didn't have symmetry,
Did you think of me as just another memory?

Poetry: Just a memory
I hear your footsteps as you walk
You take a deep breath of the chill air
I can already see the smile on your lips
As you

Just A Memory
I lift your favorite sweater to my nose stuffed up from crying
The smell of your cologne is what I'm
At five, she runs through the garden picking daisies for Mom.
By seventeen, she dresses in satin and lace for her senior
Your jacket no longer hangs by the door.
Your laughter is not in the air.
I don't feel your warmth beside me,
Or your lips
You used to be everything,
you were a part of my everyday life.
A quick hello before work,
and an array of messages throughout
