Growing Up
I'm 24 and I see my life passing before my eyes
Everyone's busy that no one denies
But man I barely get to see my high school friends
Someone tell me when this madness ends
The real world my friends I don't think is for me
Sitting at home with my family is where I want to be
Being a teenager was the best time of our life yet unaware
Enjoying our lives without an important care
I wish I knew then what I know now
So many things I would change when, where, and how
It's amazing through experience the amount we now know
It's easy to sit and wonder where'd all the time go
Before we realize we're starting our career
Hardly enough time to relax or enjoy a beer
So much responsibility and tons of bills to pay
Looking forward to just getting through the day
Day to day month to month year to year
Sometimes we can't stand to look in the mirror
I couldn't wait to be older but I hadn't a clue
That growing up would be so difficult to do

Ring around the
I want to be a girl,
Yet I'm forced into womanhood.
I must seem like a fool.
By so many I'm misunderstood.
If I act like who
I'm a big girl now
I can walk on my own
with every step that I take
I'm making the world my home
I'm a big girl now
Don't tell

Maturity comes at a cost
Our youth slowly fades
New fears arise
Life isn't all parades
Our bodies change
We don't recognize
