Clutter is a common occurrence in our lives. We accumulate stuff which later becomes overused, unnecessary, unwanted or just obsolete and yet we keep them. Keeping them creates the clutter that we somehow despise but do not know what to do with it. However, it is easy to get rid of clutter and live a clutter free life by just employing a few simple solutions.

Avoid purchasing or accepting things that are not useful to you. Clutter can be avoided if you refuse to purchase or acquire anything that you do not need. Resist the urge to buy or accept anything that is not useful or necessary regardless of the qualities that you assign to it. If you do not need it, after the initial fascination, you will be left with the problem of trying to find space for it. If you already have things that you do not need, get rid of them.

Reorganize closets and cupboards. Clean out your closets, cupboards, cabinets. Keep those that are necessary and get rid of those you do not need. Add shelves or dividers to help in reorganization of these areas. Get rid of the old before adding anything new.

Clear out the garage. The garage is a place where clutter accumulates easily. Clear out the garage and throw or give away what you do not want to keep. Now create storage space for the things that you want to keep. Build shelves in available spaces and organize your stuff in ways that will make them easily accessible. Storage boxes are a great way to organize and get rid of clutter. Buy storage boxes and organize areas of storage using these boxes.

Keep living areas simple. Clutter tends to creep into living spaces such as the living room and kitchen. Select those things that you have not used in ages which are simply lying around catching dust, and get rid of them. All the unnecessary figurines and porcelain ornaments, the old and seldom used appliances add to the clutter so find a way to dispose of them. Keep living areas light, cheery and simple and avoid having too much furniture. Also, organize desks and drawers and put only what is necessary in them.

Living clutter free can be easily accomplished as long as one is determined. If you exercise self-control as to the amount of things you accumulate then you can live clutter free.
