Rockford is one that does not get much attention and is mostly considered a forgotten game. It is one of the games that have to be considered available for the CD Mega Games. It consisted of five different mini games that had been involved with it and it just is something that would just be looked upon for what it was instead of what it isn't. To be honest, this game doesn't really ever get seen or mentioned in the sense because of the fact that it wasn't well-known and there really wasn't much in the way of advertising. If anything, it just had perhaps maybe one of its only ways would be because of a CD like Mega Games that had many different games.
There really isn't much of a story. The object of the game is to get the treasure or any item that is involved with the mini games. If playing the explorer mode, then it would be involving collecting golden coins. There are a few levels and there is the time limit of course so be sure to watch that carefully. There is also the doctor mode and it involves collecting what appears to be hearts. Three more exist after that being the chef, space man, and a hunter collecting the items and then just completing the levels avoiding enemies and anything in the way.
Graphically, the game looks like it would be out of Dig Dug to an extent. If anything, it would be virtually identical. There are just levels and it involves objects and digging. There are items that need to be collected and eventually once the minimum amount of items has been collected, then it is time to get out of the area before time runs out and of course avoiding danger like the plague.
Unlike Dig Dug, you cannot blow up the enemies. There are traps that you can set and if you get them hit, sometimes items will drop out in terms of the specific area. This is pretty much just its own game with its own twist in that respect. If anything, it can be considered fine for what it was.
The game play for the game is pretty simple to understand and nothing that would be considered too complicated to understand. Some of the levels of course are going to require some extensive thinking and that is just the way it is. Mostly, it is a puzzle game and just requires extensive strategy. Just be sure to use your mind on that one.
In terms of overall, the game is solid and enjoyable. It would be recommended for those who are into puzzle games. If you are not into those types of games, then this would not be one to even consider whatsoever. It is a decent game and probably can be found and most likely is freeware due to the fact that it isn't being sold anywhere. Just be sure to take a look at it if you ever think about it and do a search online for it if you wish.
