The Wii game console has much to offer. This particular gaming system has lead to a new form of interactive play. While the Wii competitor Playstation 3 is running a tight race, some tend to agree that the Wii is a much better purchase.
The Wii system allows the gamer to become physically engaged in the game. Many parents love the new system solely for that purpose alone. Finally a gaming system that still allows children to enjoy one of their favorite hobbies, but add the bonus of physical exercise! In a world consumed with obesity this is an amazing concept to put into your couch potato's life. With games that promote fitness, one can run a mile, play a round of tennis, box a few rounds, and even do step aerobics. This is not only fun and challenging but whittles away the waist as well.
The Wii gaming system has a broad range of attachments that can be purchased to go along with the system and enhance game play. There is the Wii balance board, the Wii Wheel, The Nun chuck, and much more. All of these attachments are made to enhance the game and bring something new to the plate. Each one of these components also comes with a price. One has to be careful when purchasing a game to ensure they have all the needed attachments in order to play. For instance, the Wii Balance Board is needed to play certain fitness training games. Without the board, the game is unplayable. Another example would be the Mario Kart game. While it may appear you would need the Wii Wheel attachment, it isn't really required to play. This is a feature that is not a necessity but does add to the experience. There is something about playing a racing game and actually holding on to a steering wheel.
There are many pluses to owning the Wii console. One use to be the price, but Playstation has come back with a much more competitive price. While the Playstation has much better graphics, it lacks the physical interaction that many people love. This gives parents and children a new and exciting way to play together.
The Wii console is a well laid out gaming system and is well worth the price. The games can run one anywhere from $20 - $60. When put in comparison to the average cost of a family night out, this pays for itself within the first couple of days! Owning a Wii system is fun and exciting, but do not be surprised when all the muscles in your body are aching from the exercise!
