One of the most impressive elements of BioWare's epic role playing game, Dragon Age Origins, is the unique character customization features that come with it. The character customization features allow you to build your character in your own image whether it is human, dwarf or elf. The character customization features come in many different methods from the very beginning of the game as players will soon realize. It is very easy to spend hours upon hours customizing your character until you have the preferred model.

The first and foremost introduction to character customization comes at the very beginning of the game. After you have chosen your class and race, you then gain access to the customization feature which allows you to alter the face of your character. In this menu, you can change anything from hair style and beard style to wrinkles, eyes, nose and jaw shape, as well as the voice of the character. Using these tools, you are able to create a character of any level of good or evil looking, any age or even create a character in your own image to see yourself in the game. These tools are very similar to those used in the create a wrestler modes of the Smackdown Vs Raw series of video games.

The next aspect of character customization comes from in the game itself. When purchasing or finding new armor, players will be able to equip it. The difference in Dragon Age when compared to other games however is the fact that the armor actually alters your appearance. You can actually see your character wearing it which is likely a first for console third person RPG standards in 2009. By finding, purchasing new armor and helmets in Dragon Age, players essentially have total control of their characters appearance. Be sure to keep and store your favorite kings of armor to match them with other pieces for the perfect image.

Of course, along with the armor customization also come the weapon customization. Players are able to find and equip new weapons such as swords, axes, bows and maces and even unique specific weapons, all of which appear and give new models to the character. These weapons can be found and purchased to the player's preference; you may want something that gives you power, but you may want something that matches for you and your army if you are going for s specific style or color.

Character customization in Dragon Age: Origins is one of the most immersive aspects that does not taker away from the gameplay itself. Players will soon find themselves looking for the complete sets to specific armor styles in order to equip their army with a specific strength or color style.
