Weight loss is important for many individuals. More so when they have noticed that the weight has crept up over the years and they have become overweight severely. While it's taken them a while to accumulate the weight, they want to, and expect to lose it really quickly. The quicker the results the better, but not necessarily better for their health. These people don't want to sacrifice their time and effort to lose the weight over a long period, they want results quickly so that they don't get deterred, so that they feel better about themselves and can go back to a regular lifestyle.
Quick weight loss means that they don't have to work too hard for a too long period of time. The less effort for better results works well for most people. That way they can focus their time and attention on things which are more important to them. This is more so if they don't like exercise or depriving themselves of foods and activities that they love. A good way to avoid this is to not deprive yourself completely but allow for regular treats, and making workouts a social activity.
Boredom usually leads to a stop in gym attendance or exercise because individuals either do too much of the same thing, or they go overboard by committing themselves to too much exercise. Diet choices go back to old ones because the food choices are limited and usually lack certain vitamins and minerals or food groups. and results stall. Variety is key. There are lots of types of exercise and it's vital to find one that works for you.
When it takes a while to see results, these individuals feel as if their efforts are being wasted. They want quicker results to keep them motivated to lose weight. The best way to overcome this is to set small goals instead of just looking at the bigger picture. The scales aren't the only things that will indicate weight loss. General self feeling and the way clothes fit are also good indicators.
Weight loss is not a short term quest for most people, especially those who have accumulated a large amount of weight. The weight gain may have happened over a shorter period of time, but weight loss will take double this time. We live in a fast paced society where we want everything right now, why not instant weight loss as well. Of course it may be possible for those with a crew of personal chefs, trainers, beauty therapists and shrinks, for the normal person in the real world losing a lot of weight quickly becomes much more difficult.
