gitech wireless Mouse M305 a great replacement for a dud
Advantages: wireless with more freedom, responsive, comfortable.
Disadvantages: more expensive than a wired mouse.
In November 2009 I bought a Logitech M305 wireless mouse, which cost 19.99 pounds at Currys.
General information
Logitech was founded in 1981 in Switzerland and is a world leader in mice. The M305 wireless mouse is designed for use with laptops and is very comfortable in the hand.
It looks the same as the picture you can see on ciao website i.e. grey colour with black feature. However if you visit Logitech's website you can see it's available in 7 colours. I would describe the size as standard for a laptop mouse. It has a two-button design with a single scroll wheel in-between. However the palm rest is a little taller and more arched than most mice on the market.
The package is the size of a small book and easy to open. It contains a wireless mouse, a nano-receiver, an AA battery and a quick start guide.
How to start using it
The quick start guide has 13 languages. However you don't need to read it because the mouse is so easy to set up. You just turn on your laptop, put the battery into the mouse and switch the power on. Then plug the nano-receiver in a USB port. If your operating system is Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X10.4 or later and Linux kernel 2.6+ it will work immediately.
Main features of Logitech M305
1. High-definition optical tracking. It means you can use the mouse on most hard surfaces.
2. Advanced 2.4 GHz cursor control. Compared to conventional 2.4 GHz and 27 MHz wireless technologies the mouse is more responsive and smooth.
3. The nano-receiver is so small you just need to put it into the USB port and forget about it. But if you don't use it for a long time you can remove the receiver and place it in a storage area, which is next to the battery on the mouse.
4. The mouse has auto off, On/Off buttons, and a battery indicator-light. When you aren't using the mouse the auto off function will automatically put your mouse to sleep. You also can manually turn off your mouse. Battery led flashes when battery power is low. That said an AA battery can last for one year.
You can also download free software at Logitech website. The program called Setpoint provides advanced features for your mouse, which include programmable buttons, mouse movement control, game settings and battery level indicator.
My opinion
I bought a Labtec wired mini mouse
