Hello people! If this debate title, Asking if we should give the kids a sip of the no no juice didn't raise the blood pressure a touch, we're in a little more trouble than I thought.
Did I understand what I read? Was there more than a few people that voted a comfortable yes with this debate? Here's what's coming to mind for me. Now you boys that make a buck out of educating us out here that aren't up to date on what some call redneck information, I'm not trying to get in your business. Though, when I read the debate then saw how many people voted in favor of, well a little sip sip for the kiddies, here's what came to mind . . .
A little tail gate, no reason, just because, everyone parked out near the pond, trucks parked butt to butt, tail gate down, coolers packed full and iced, barbecues hot and smoking, folks just sitting back wherever they found a comfortable spot, kids are just running all over the place in every direction; they're laughing, rolling on the ground, having a great time. Now no one seems to be aware of it, but these kids aren't having the time of their lives, their drunk. Why? Because every-time someone wants a beer, or a wine cooler, or even worse a little sip of good ole JD, they yell for one of the kids to go over to the cooler and get it for them, the reward for such good behavior is a sip of whatever they have delivered, now imagine the suction power of some of these kids when they have realized the effect of Mom, or Dad's drink.
Sorry boys but here goes, You know you're a redneck when at the end of a day of picnicking, and tailgating the kids are far drunker than the adults. And you thought they were throwing up from eating Aunt Jen's potato salad. Dear God what's wrong with people?
I'm not sure, but didn't the people that voted yes for this debate realize that it's against the law in every state in this United States, and I would feel safe to say just about anywhere else to give a minor alcohol? And the danger of alcohol poisoning. that could cause anything from a single problematic situation, to permanent brain damage, to even death. Did that not cross their minds?
To say I'm angered is an understatement; my sarcasm I won't even apologize for, not in this instance. If there are children, and there are, that are being encouraged by their own parents, or care givers to drink alcohol, how can there be hope of these children growing up healthy, if at all, and with the guidance only a parent can offer to become an ambitious, educated, self reliant, part of the family, and society? It's as though it's being left up to the child to make the best decision on their own. Wow, now that's a tough life.
