Keeping your kid indoors on a rainy day may not sound very fun but it's actually a blast! You get to interact withy your child more and have fun creating new and exciting crafts. I love to make crafts with my younger cousins on rainy days and we make something special every time and it keeps the memories growing. Here are some fun craft ideas for anyone young in your life.
Animal Sock Puppets
This is a pretty age old craft that has always been fun to make. Take an old sock or two and make an animal with it! Its easier than it seems all you need is some craft goggle eyes, some felt, scissors and glue. The felt should be red and any other color, the red is for the mouth and the other colors are for the ears and tail. Let's say you're making a cat, put the red felt where your hand meets in the end of the sock, this is how it'll talk! Basically this is pretty self explanatory but hey it works and keeps the children busy!
Button Art
If you have a bottle of buttons somewhere or go out and buy a various assortment, this is a fun way to get crafty on a rainy day. Get some colored construction paper as the base of your project, use glue with your buttons and have at it! Some fun ideas are using bigger buttons as the top of a flower and smaller ones for the stems. Colorful buttons can be for the petals, and if you want to include a sun in the picture use a bright yellow one!
Rock Paper Weights
This would be something new and interesting to work on. All you need is a rock, a medium sized one at best from your back yard and some acrylic paint. Now its time to do whatever you wish with it! They can make a design in various colors; they can paint an animal or even paint their own name on it for customization.
These three ideas are definitely not the only ones out there, but they are a mix of original and classic and can form your own creative ideas for sure. These will keep a child's interest for quite a long time, maybe even long enough to want to work on more! Remember that longer crafts will hold their attention span for an extended period of time.
