Quirkey Turkey
Sam loved all of the excitement of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. He had watched this parade ever since he could remember and that was a while, since his parents had taken him to it every Thanksgiving since he was born. This was a special Macy's parade for Sam , this year, he was actually going to get to be part of it and see the parade from a different perspective. He had always loved the huge turkey balloon and now he was going to get to hold one of the ropes, he could see, in his mind, the people on the parade route smiling, especially the children. Everyone was running around getting things ready, not just for their turkey, but for all the parade, it was electric to see so much excitement.

Oh, what a sight to see the children cheering and people shouting and clapping as they were taking their turkey down the street. Everything was going smoothly, turning the corners, not much wind at all today, and it was an unusually warm day, around seventy degrees today.
All of a sudden there was a loud bang, bang, bang. People were hitting the ground thinking that someone was shooting, in reality it was one of the floats backfiring, but, there was no way to tell that, only the driver of the float knew and there was so much panic no one was listening. Sam's fellow rope holders were hitting the ground and letting go of their ropes, Sam could feel the pressure mounting on his rope, as he knew he wasn't letting go of his of his rope. He had waited much too long to let go now. Suddenly, Sam was almost running to keep his
