3 excellent Homemade Christmas ideas
Here are three impressive gifts that are homemade and really show where the heart is. They are inexpensive and best of all, easy to do! Fun as a solo job, or cool as a family project. Beware, these fun projects have a way of quickly becoming annual holiday traditions.
1.) Bakery goods:
All the bakers are busy this time of year! Who doesn’t love home baked Christmas goods? Everyone is busy this season, and seasonal bakery items really make the moments sweeter and are really appreciated!
Go to the thrift store and find unique platters to put them on. You can find some really beautiful platters, some great deals, and it really makes the gift special. Wrap it up with some clear wrapping paper and a beautiful bow. This is a quality gift, homemade and will be very impressive.
Cookies are great. Pick a couple of your favorite recipes and bake massive collection, all at once. Then tray your platters. You can freeze and when ready to deliver pull them within hours of giving. Homemade banana bread or zucchini breads are great ideas too. Easy to wrap and freeze. Purchase some pretty fat ribbon and wrap these up, and they're ready to give!
2.) Decorated candle holders
Go to the thrift store and find several plain glass candle holders and decorate them with beads and stones. All you need is a glue gun, beads or stones, and a container to decorate. You can also do candy dishes, or picture frames. Give away as sets. This is a great project for kids too. They love art projects, and they make great gifts for them to give to grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, and coaches.
You can also purchase candy to fill the dishes, tea light candles for the candleholders, potpourri, and also fill the picture frames with pictures of the kids! These items are inexpensive and are available at the dollar store! These are homemade gifts that really embrace the season right!
3.) Christmas Ornaments:
Kids love this activity! Homemade ornaments are a fun way to say Merry Christmas, with a very personal touch. You can get the clear plastic or glass ones plain, and paint. Yarn, Styrofoam, and metal are also options. Wal-Mart, Michaels, and many crafts stores are great places to get inspired and buy what you need. They also make great gifts, or use them somewhere on a gift, as part of the wrapping decoration. Ornament making is a great homemade gift because people will think of you every year they put your ornament on their tree.
Have fun, make some lifelong memories with your kids, and your homemade Christmas projects will be as fun to make, as they are to give!
